The deepest roots are a family of DiSantis from Rocca Pia in the province of L'Aquila. The line came down through Domenico DiSantis of Cansano, and the immigrating generation left Lettopalena for America — through Ellis Island on the steamship Kronprinz Wilhelm, settling in Pittsburgh's South Hills.
